    Forces shoot dead three Pakistan border in Kashmir

    JAMMU, Dec 30 (1989): Indian security forces killed three armed men in a gunfight near the border with Pakistan on Saturday, official sources said. The sources said the men, carrying AK-47 rifles, had crossed from Pakistan and opened fire when they ran into a border security patrol some 30 km (20 miles) west of Jammu in the Himalayan state of Kashmir.     SRINAGAR, Dec 27 (1989): Kashmiri militants have shot dead a freelance journalist and lawyer opposed to their cause, police said on Wednesday. Police said P.N. Bhat was killed outside his house in the southern Kashmir town of Anantanag where he practised law. Bhat was known for his critical views on the Kashmiri separatist movement and wrote articles in local newspapers.

    Pakistan asks Kashmiri militants not to kill Home Minister's daughter

    ISLAMABAD, Dec 23 (1989): Pakistan on Sunday appealed to  Kashmiri not to carry out their threat to kill the kidnapped daughter of Indian Home Minister's.
