‘Revocation of AFSPA, dialogue with stakeholders way to win peoples’ trust’
Mumbai: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday said that the Article 370 is the basis of JK’s partnership with the rest of the country and the historic reality has been recognized in the Agenda for Alliance.
“Article 370 is the basis of partnership of people of Jammu & Kashmir with their counterparts in rest of the country and the Agenda for Alliance between PDP and BJP has duly recognized that historic reality, “Mehbooba said during the India Today Conclave in Mumbai.
Chief Ministers of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, Devinder Fadnavis and Shivraj Singh Chouhan also attended the session.
The CM also mentioned that the sensitivities of the state, different from the rest of the country, need to be recognized. She also maintained that in order to move ahead, there is a need to reach out to the people of the state, especially the youth.
Mehbooba reiterated that dialogue with all stakeholders and revocation of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) is a way to win the trust and the confidence of the people.
During her address, Mehbooba also spoke about preserving regional aspirations, specific needs of the state, federalism and its nature.
The chief Minister was on a two day visit to Maharashtra.
