Modi a brave person, supported my Govt during unrest, says Mehbooba

Udhampur: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a ‘brave person’ and thanked him for supporting her government during ‘difficult times’.

CM, while addressing a rally at Udhampur, also said that her father and former Chief Minister Mufti Sayeed joined hands with Modi to take the state ‘out of trouble’.

“You are a brave person; when you take a decision you implement it on ground. My father, Mufti Muhammad had joined hands with you to stop the river of fire and take Jammu and Kashmir out of trouble,” said Mehbooba.

The CM also thanked Modi for supporting her government during the 2016 uprising which she referred to as ‘difficult times’.

“I thank you for supporting me during the difficult time last year and keeping Rajnath Singh (Home Minister) by my side to help me,” she said.

Mehbooba invited Modi to Kashmir so that he can deliver a message to the world that the valley is safe for the tourists.

While congratulating the PM after the inauguration of the Chenani-Nashri tunnel, Mehbooba said that more such tunnels would be constructed in the future.

“I hope that you will inaugurate more tunnels like Mughal, Zojilla, Sadna, Rajdhani and others in future. These tunnels will not only reduce the distance between Jammu and Kashmir but also, I hope, will connect hearts of the people too, “said Mehbooba.
