Pak Army’s BAT action foiled in Uri: Army, ‘two militants shot dead’

Srinagar: Indian army on Friday claimed that it foiled an ‘attempt to attack’ by the soldiers of Pakistan army, along Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector.

Srinagar based defense spokesperson, Col Rajesh Kalia told the FreePressKashmir that two suspected militants were killed.

“The BAT (Border Action Team) action against Indian army in Uri sector was foiled,” Col Kalia said “Two militants have been killed.”

BAT, he said, is the Border Action Team, which belongs to the Pakistan army.

“There was an attempt to attack the Indian army in Uri sector along LoC but that was foiled,” he added.

When asked whether the bodies of the suspected militants were recovered, he said, “the operation is still in progress.”

The LoC in J&K is witnessing continuous cross-border shelling from the Indian and Pakistan troops.

The Indian army, a few days back said that it had attacked and destroyed posts of the Pakistan army, and it released a 21-second video. However, in a tit-for-tat reaction the Pakistan Army released an 87-second video claiming action against the Indian troops posted in J&K.
