A student leader of the banned Kashmir University Students union (KUSU) told the FreePressKashmir that students from various departments came out raising pro-freedom, pro-militant and anti-India slogans.

“The protests started from the KU hostels where hundreds of students assembled and started a peaceful march through Chinar rich Naseem Bagh,” he said insisting not be named.

The students are being accompanied by scores of female colleagues, the leader informed. “They are marching through the KU campus in solidarity with the bereaved families of the slain militants.”

Sabzar Ahmad Bhat, a trusted lieutenant of popular Hizb commander Burhan Wani – who was killed on July 08, 2016 triggering massive anti-India protests – belongs to main town Tral and was accompanied by a teenage militant, Faizan Ahmad and engaged forces in firefight in Saimoo village of Tral.

Faizan joined Hizb on March 04, 2017 after snatching a rifle from a forces personnel in main town Tral during a stone pelting incident.

Similar reports reached from Government Degree College Baramulla where students alleged that armed forces fired tear gas shells inside the campus.
