Unknown gunmen fire at PDP worker in Baramulla; Man Injured in Pulwama ‘blast’

Srinagar: A worker of ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was injured when unknown gunmen opened fire at him in Baramulla on late Tuesday night while as another man was injured in Pulwama district this morning in a roadside blast.

Identified as Abdul Rashid Lone, he was returning home after offering late night prayers when unknown gunmen opened fire on him in Khanpora area of the district.

Lone’s relative was also injured in the incident. The duo was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

The armed forces including that from Indian army and J&K police cordoned the nearby localities during which they arrested three persons.

Meanwhile, a man was injured on Wednesday in an explosion in Pulwama district.

Ghulam Mohi ud Din Shah (45) found spotted an unidentified packet near his shop at Dalipora in Pulwama district.

“Shah started fiddling with it,” a police official from Pulwama toild the FreePressKashmir. “The packet exploded injuring Shah.”

The police official said that packet “contained some explosive”.

“We are investigating the matter,” he added.

Shah was shifted to SKIMS Hospital here and his condition is stated to be stable.
