DGP extends congratulations and best wishes
Srinagar: One of the 14 who qualified Indian Administrative Services exam from the state, Suhail Qasim Mir is a son of a head constable of the Jammu and Kashmir police.
Mir, who cracked the exam in his first attempt, is the son of Mohammad Qasim, a head constable posted in district Srinagar.
Director General of Police, Dr. S.P Vaid has congratulated Mir and his family for qualifying UPSC exams.
A resident of Sirhama, Bijbehara, Mir secured 125th position in the exam.
A statement from the police read, “DGP on behalf of Police Parivar has congratulated other candidates of the State and their families as well, who have cracked the national level competitive examination. He has wished all of them a bright future and success.”
This is for the first time that 14 candidates from the restive state have qualified the exams.
It’s pertinent to mention that another successful candidate Bilal Mohi ud Din Bhat bagged the tenth rank.
Bilal, 31, hails from Haripora, Unisoo village in Langate area of Kupwara district. He completed his schooling and college from Srinagar before studying Veterinary Sciences in Jammu.
Bilal is currently posted with the Indian Forest Services in Lucknow.
