Kashmir killings: Forces shoot, injure 9th class student, shifted to SKIMS Soura

Srinagar: A ninth class student was injured after armed forces opened fire on stone pelting protesters in Koil Pulwama on Thursday.

Identified as Kamran Mohi-ud-din, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din, he was immediately rushed to a local health facility wherefrom he was referred to SKIMS Soura.

The incident happened when scores of youth allegedly pelted stones on an army vehicle passing through the village, which lies in south of Srinagar.

The army men immediately resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters, reports said adding one of the bullets hit Kamran.

Situation remained very tense in Pulwama district throughout the day after three militants were killed in an encounter at Kakpora.

A civilian was shot dead by the men in uniform during clashes at the hands of forces in Kakpora while as more than sixty sustained injuries. He was identified as Tawseef Ahmad Wani, a resident of Tengpuna, Pulwama.

Meanwhile, the Indian armed forces have laid siege around a village in Budgam’s Beerwah area. Reports said that the armed forces cordoned off and launched searches in Habber Khag.
