Pursue issues like Kashmir legally, take an official stand: Ayatollah Khamenei tells Iran’s judiciary

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei on Monday asked the country’s judiciary to pursue issue like US sanctions, Muslims of Myanmmar and Kashmir legally and take an official position.

The Supreme Leader said this while in a high level meeting in which chief justice of the country Sadeq Amoli Larijani was also present.

“The Judiciary should intervene from a legal position in such issues as sanctions, US confiscations and terrorism or [come out] in support of downtrodden personalities in the world such as Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky or the Muslims of Myanmar and Kashmir,” Press TV reported.

In such issues, Ayatollah Khamenei said, the Judiciary should “decisively declare its supportive position or opposition so it is reflected across the world.”

This is the second time that Ayatollah Khamenei has referred to Kashmir in last 10 days. Ayatollah Khamenei, during his Eid sermon urged the Muslims worldwide to support the people of Kashmir, who according to him, faced oppression even during the fasting month of Ramadan.

The leader while addressing a gathering at Tehran’s Great Musalla (Prayer Ground) which was also attended by Iranian President and top military commanders, besides diplomats from Muslim nations, that the Islamic world must explicitly support the oppressed people of Yemeni, Bahrain and Kashmir.

“They must express their disavowal and aversion of tyrants and oppressors who assaulted them in the way you saw during the month of Ramadan.”
