Srinagar: Minister for Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary on Thursday visited Chrar-e-Sharief in Budgam to felicitate a constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police for act of bravery.
MLA Nowshera Ravinder Raina, SSP Budgam Tejinder Singh, SHO Budgam and other police officials were also present on the occasion.
Crediting J&K Police as one of the best forces in the country, the Minister said the force has a ‘vital role’ in maintaining peace and order in the State. He further said that Jammu Kashmir Police (JKP) has always maintained a high level of discipline and has shown exemplary courage in saving the lives of people amidst challenging situation.
“Capabilities of Jammu and Kashmir Police have been recognized at national level and the force now figures at par with leading forces of the country”, Choudhary said.
Choudhary said there is a need to further strengthen Jammu Kashmir Police for which the government is fully committed and many measures have already been taken in this regard.
