Killed Tral teenager was son of an Army man

Srinagar: Mohammad Younis Sheikh, the 16-year old who was killed during clashes between forces and protesters in Tral on Wednesday, was a son of a retired army man.

Sheikh was killed after being hit by hundreds of pellets in the chest. He got hit during clshes which erupted during an encounter in Tral in which three militants were killed.

Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, while speaking to reporters at his home in Saimoo village of the area, said that he retired after serving the army for more than 20 years.

“Yes, I have served in the Indian army for more than 20 years,” Khaliq said.

He said he has retired from the service a couple of years back and was now working in a bank.
