Srinagar: As a complete shutdown is being observed in the Kashmir valley against the abrogation of the Article 35-A, Chenab valley is following suit.
Anjuman Islamia Bhadarwah, Markazi Seerat Committee Doda, Anjuman Islamia Gandoh, Masjid Committee Thathri and Majlis-e-Shoura Kishtwar had also issued a shutdown call, which is being followed in Chenab Valley by Muslim community.
According to a report in the Daily Greater Kashmir, shops, other business establishments and some private schools of Muslim community remained closed. Government schools and offices are functioning normally and traffic is plying on the roads as usual.
According to the report, in Kishtwar, business establishments and some educational institutions remained closed while transport also remained off the roads following the shutdown call issued by the Majlis-e-Shoora Kishtwar, an amalgam of local Imams and traders of Kishtwar.
