Pakistan’s constant support to Kashmiris a source of strength: Hurriyat (M)

Srinagar: While greeting people of Pakistan on their Independence Day, Hurriyat (M) on Monday said their constant support to Kashmiris “is our strength”.

“Pakistan has always supported the Kashmiri struggle, on moral, political and diplomatic fronts and always backed the people of Jammu and Kashmir in achieving their goal of right to self determination,” Hurriyat (M), said in a statement today.

“Pakistan’s constant support to the people of Kashmir and their just struggle has been a source of strength for them and today the entire Kashmiri nation besides congratulating the country is also praying for its security, prosperity and progress on all fronts.”

APHC also condemned the imposition of curfew in downtown Srinagar and “turning the entire area into a military fortress.”

“Downtown people are made to suffer on a regular basis as the imposition of curfew besides causing hardships to the people is also resulting in huge losses to the business community as the area is considered as the oldest economical hub of Kashmir,” said the statement.

It said that every day restrictions in downtown is a ploy to weaken economy of traders and other businessmen.

APHC has expressed its concern over the health of ailing resistance leader Syed Ali Geelani and prayed to Almighty for his speedy recovery.
