Div Com inspects construction work of Jehangir Chowk-Rambagh flyover

‘1st phase of project will be completed upto Oct’

 

Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, on Wednesday, conducted an extensive tour of Srinagar city and reviewed the progress of Jehangir-Rambagh flyover and other works.

Director Floriculture, Executive Engineer ERA, Deputy Director Planning, Officers from Police, Revenue, ERA, Floriculture and other concerned officials accompanied the Divisional Commissioner.

The Divisional Commissioner inspected ongoing construction work of Jehangir Chowk-Rambagh flyover project.

Officials informed the Divisional Commissioner that work on Rs 262 crore project is going in full swing on double shift basis and the first phase of the project from Rambagh-Amar Singh College will be completed upto October 2017. The remaining work of the flyover project will be completed in a fixed timeline, they said.

Div Com directed the officials to ensure judicious use of funds besides stressed them to speed up the pace of work for its timely completion so that the commuters get benefited.
On the occasion, Divisional Commissioner said that this is the prestigious project in the Srinagar city which will decongest the traffic. He asked engineers and contractors to work with added zeal and in synergy so that this prestigious project will be completed in a time bound manner.

Later, the Divisional commissioner took on-spot review of Sonawar Park and directed PHE department to complete the pipe repairing work in the park immediately. He also directed Director Floriculture to start the face-lifting work of this park on war footing basis so that the beauty of the area is restored.

Khan also visited historic Sher-e-Kashmir Park and directed the Director Floriculture to do sanitation work on daily basis besides other face-lifting works immediately so that the pristine glory of this historic park will be revived and restored. (KNS
