JRL extends support to traders’ strike, says Delhi using NIA as ‘war weapon’

Srinagar: The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) while supporting the Kashmir Bandh on 25 September called by traders and transporters, said that New Delhi is using NIA as a war weapon and to harass the oppressed and suppressed people of state.

In a statement, JRL denounced and strongly criticized the Enforcement Directorate for filing charge sheet against Shabir Ahmad Shah, calling it sheer political vendetta.

Strongly criticizing NIA for issuance of notices and summoning the traders fraternity leader Mohammad Yassin Khan, Haji Ghulam Nabi, Agha Syed Hassan,  University scholar Aala Fazili , Dr. Naeem Geelani, Dr. Naseem Geelani, Photograph Journalists, Tehreek-e-Huriyat leader Shah Wali Muhammad, Advocate Miya Abdul Qayoom, Mohammad Shafi Rishi, Noor Muhammad Kalwal and university students, JRL said that NIA is framing  fabricated cases against pro-freedom leaders  to defame the freedom movement  and  as part of “pre-planned psychological crackdown” so that they (leadership and activists) surrender and stop voicing the sentiments of their nation.

“Since last seven decades, state is facing suppression and oppression, unleashed by Indian forces, however people are politically mature enough and realize the follies played by Indian authorities,” the statement added.

The JRL said that during their raids NIA didn’t get any objectionable material, however Hurriyat leaders, including Shabir Ahmad Shah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Shahid-ul-Islam, Pir Saif ullah, Raja Meraj-u-din Kalwal, Nayem Ahmed Khan, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Zahoor Ahmad Watali and Kamran Yousuf were arrested and lodged in Tihar jail.

While blaming Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for declaring war on people, they said that it is her lust for power and added that she in league with authorities in New Delhi, is hell bent to create ‘grave yard like silence’ in state.

“They have launched a character assassination campaign against leadership and as such services of its media has created hype to justify the genocide of people in state, “added the statement.

“Defamation campaign and implicating leadership in false and fabricated cases can’t deter us or dampen freedom sentiments of people,” said leadership and added that instead, this psychological crackdown will rejuvenate the freedom sentiments of people.
