Govt orders closure of educational institutions for the second consecutive day

Srinagar: The Government has ordered closure of all educational institutions in the valley for the second consecutive day tomorrow.

The decision has been taken as a ‘preventive measure’.

The Divisional commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Khan said, “All educational institutions, including universities, will remain closed on Friday.

The Kashmir University spokesman also said that the class work in the varsity shall remained suspended on 13th October however, all the scheduled examinations shall be held.

The Joint Resistance Leadership has called for peaceful protests against braid chopping incidents across the valley on Friday. They had asked the students to protest against the ‘attack on the honour and dignity of mothers and sisters’ on Thursday.

Authorities had ordered closure of educational institutions on Thursday too as a preventive measure.
