KCCI delegation meets Chairman JK Bank, talk about traders’ issues

Artisans’ issues, flood victims and loan cases also discussed 

A delegation of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) headed by its President, Mr. Javid Ahmad Tenga had met with the Chairman J&K Bank today detailing him about the issues concerning traders.

The issue related to the non insured flood victims was discussed in the meeting.

As per a statement released by the KCCI, the Chairman expressed sympathy towards the victims and assured that the matter will be taken up with the concerned quarters to work out possibilities for help.

The issue of debt recovery KCCI said that the Chairman assured that a lenient view for deferred action in genuine cases will be taken but at the same time the wilful defaulters will not be spared.

The KCCI delegation pleaded that the Dastkaar Finance Scheme should be revisited and the cap of finance available be enhanced, to benefit the lowest class of artisans.

The delegation also discussed the condition of tourism trade with the Chairman and suggested that the J&K Bank could utilize the service of nearly 300 hundred branches outside the state to help to promote the tourism trade by way of establishing a special facilitation counter for tourists.

It was explained in the meeting that such facilitation will help make awareness through out the country and attract good number of tourist to the valley. It was also suggested that the tourist could be offered EMI facility on tour packages by the J&K Bank.

The Chairman, as per the statement assured that the suggestion could be considered in due course of time and assured that the Bank will participate in the Road Shows and other FAM tours wherever possible outside the state.

The Chamber stressed to finance against inventory with lower rate of interest. It was also discussed to finance on revolving LC basis so that no mortgage is required against the finance.
