Tasaduq Mufti alien to Kashmir’s political landscape: NC

‘Party‘s belief that Mufti’s son would resurrect a ‘mis-placed euphoria’

Srinagar: Opposition National Conference on Saturday termed Tasaduq Mufti’s elevation another failed attempt by the party to regain its lost ground, stating that PDP founder’s son is alien to Kashmir’s political landscape.

“He knows nothing and cares for nothing in Kashmir. He doesn’t even know the names of the constituencies in Kashmir but PDP hopes that his induction would resurrect it once again. The fact is that the PDP is living in fool’s paradise as it has been eroded at the time when it stitched alliance with the fanatic BJP,” NC’s provincial president for Kashmir, Nasir Aslam Wani told KNS.

He added that individuals like Tasaduq wouldn’t steer PDP’s sinking ship the shores as people are fully aware about what this government has done for them.

“Tell me a single pro-people measure taken by this government. It only believes political rhetoric and giving farce hopes. One fails to understand why PDP believes that Tasaduq who has never lived in Kashmir and doesn’t even know his party, would change PDP’s fate,” Nasir said.

Pertinently, the recommendation of the state cabinet for the nomination of Tasaduq Mufti the son of PDP patriarch and former two time Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has reached Raj Bhawan Jammu for the approval of Governor N N Vohra on Saturday.

The top-notch cinematographer will be first nominated as MLC and then expected to hold a vital cabinet portfolio in the state which is headed by her elder sister- Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
