SRINAGAR, May 31: A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was wounded overnight when Pakistani troops fired and targeted a border outpost in Samba sector,  a BSF officials said on Thursday.

They said this was another violation of ceasefire along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistani troops.

The border firing underlines the fragility of ties between the two South Asian rivals neighbours.

The firing took place at the border outpost named Regaal between 7 and 8 pm. The injured constable was on patrol duty, BSF officials said.

The condition of the constable was stated to be stable.

Despite the tension, a ceasefire agreed between India and Pakistan in 2003 along the Line of Control, the defacto border in Kashmir, has largely held.
