SRINAGAR, June 9: Five people were killed and 50 injured when a bus plunged into a gorge in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir today.

The overcrowded bus was on way to Katra, the base camp for pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Vaishnodevi, when it met with the accident at Panthel, police said.

Five people, including a woman and a child, were killed and 50 injured, they said. The injured were admitted to a hospital. In another accident, 30 people were injured when a bus, heading towards Udhampur, rolled down into a gorge at Kardi, some eight-km from here.

The injured were admitted to a hospital where the condition of four was stated to be critical, they said.
