SRINAGAR, June 17: Five CRPF personnel were injured on Sunday in a grenade attack on their picket in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said.

Suspected militants hurled a grenade at the picket of 179 Battalion CRPF at Plazza Hotel in Sopore town, 52 kms from the capital Srinagar, resulting in injuries to five soldiers, they said.

The injured have been admitted to a district hospital while two of them have been shifted to Srinagar for medical help. Police have registered a case and a manhunt has been launched for the suspected militants involved in the attack.

No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
