India threatens Pakistan with action over Kashmir

NEW DELHI, April 28,(!990): India said it will do whatever necessary to halt alleged infiltrations from Pakistan controlled Kashmir supporting an anti-Indian uprising in Kashmir Valley.

“The government of India will not tolerate infringements of its sovereignty…and will take appropriate measures to prevent such occurrences,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Aftab Seth said.

“There will be no compromise on the measures necessary to protect our integrity,” he added. Asked whether this meant the Indian armed forces might strike into Pakistani Kashmir to wipe out training camps for Kashmiri militants that Delhi says fuel the insurgency, Seth told reporters “We rule out nothing.”
