SRINAGAR, June 19: In a bizarre incident in Kashmir, a woman killed her three-year-old daughter before committing suicide.

The incident, a rare one in the valley, took place in remote hamlet of Gunoosar of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

“A lady (name with held) ended her life along with her three years old daughter by consuming some poisonous substance at home,” a police spokesperson said.

The mother, according to police, first poisoned her daughter before consuming it herself.  The duo was shifted to District Hospital, Kulgam where doctors declared them brought dead.

The motive behind the woman’s suicide was not known immediately.

Meanwhile the Police have registered a case.
