Power turned out to be more attractive for Mufti, Mehbooba than Kashmiris: Karra

Srinagar: Congress leader and former MP Tariq Hameed Karra on Saturday said that power turned out to be more lucrative for former CM Mufti Sayeed and current CM Mehbooba Mufti.

Karra, who resigned from the PDP during the 2016 uprising, was referring to his fervent appeals which he made to Mufti as well as Mehbooba regarding not to join hands with the BJP.

“ I desperately counseled Mufti Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti about the danger of aligning with the BJP however power turned out to be more lucrative and attractive for them than the people of Kashmir, “said Karra while addressing a rally jointly with NC President Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah.

Former Minister Abdul Rahim Rather, who was also present, said that the elevation of an anti-Muslim RSS Pracharak Yogi Adityanath as CM proves that the Sangh Parivar and the BJP wants to carry forward the ideology of Hindutva into the 2019 elections.

“These developments have potential of causing huge harassment to minorities across the country, “Rather said while adding that a vote to the PDP would be a endorsement to the communal agenda of the BJP.
