After Nayeem Khan & Co’s Interrogation, NIA carries out raids in Delhi, Srinagar

Srinagar: Following the interrogation of senior resistance leader, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, in New Delhi, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday carried out raids at fourteen places in Kashmir and eight places in the capital city of India in connection with funding received by the resistance leaders from Pakistan.

Khan along with Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bita Karate and Gazi Javaid were rushed to Delhi by the NIA early this week where they were grilled for allegedly receiving money from Pakistan through middle men.

The trio was seen talking about what is popularly known as Hawala money in a purported video claimed by a New Delhi based TV channel that it carried out a “sting operation” on the trio.

The NIA, which had earlier registered a Preliminary Enquiry, converted it into a Regular Case (RC) on Friday evening and began searches in the wee hours at the residences of resistance leaders in the Valley.

Around eight hawala “dealers and traders” in Delhi were also raided, NIA officials told a news gathering agency.

Two places in Sonepat were also being searched by the NIA teams in this connection.
