‘Kashmiris Leave UP’ campaigner ‘to confront’ those Kashmiris who say they are not Indians and will stream it live on FB

The controversial chief of Nav Nirman Sena, Amit Jani, after being arrested by UP police in April this year.

Srinagar: After creating security concerns for Kashmiris working and studying in Uttar Pradesh (UP) – India’s largest state – by putting up huge hoardings asking people from Jammu and Kashmir to vacate the BJP ruled state, the chief of a right wing group has dared to come to Kashmir.

The controversial chief of UP Nav Nirman Sena, Amit Jani, has said that he, along with scores of his outfit’s members, will go to Kashmir Valley to take “stone pelters to task”.

In April this year, Jani had put by hoardings across UP asking Kashmiris “to leave the state or face consequences”.

Hundreds of Kashmiris are temporarily living in Yogi Adityanath ruled UP.

The incident came to light after a complaint was lodged at the Partapur Police Station, accusing Jani of propagating a sense of hatred through the posters, asking Kashmiris to leave the state.

On Sunday, Jani said that he will stream the “confrontation” live on Facebook for everybody to see.

“Soon after the reports of the anti-Kashmiri hoardings spread on social media, I started getting messages on Facebook and Twitter from Kashmiris, provoking me to come to their state if I am courageous enough,” he said.

Jani said, “so, I along with my organisation’s members have decided to go to Kashmir by June 15 and take the stone pelters to task. All of this will be broadcast live on Facebook for the entire country to see.”

He warned that all those who will say that they are Kashmiris and not Indians will be the group’s main targets.

‘Kashmiriyon Uttar Pradesh chodo, varna…’ (Kashmiris leave UP or face consequences) hoardings were put up in Meerut and on Delhi-Dehradun highway by Jani and his group.

However, on April 23, he was arreted by UP police and sent to jail, only to be released in May.

Soon after his release, his outfit took on Jammu and Kashmir Bank, alleging that it did not hire people from mainland India.

Asked how exactly would he “take the Kashmiris to task”, and if he knew his act was illegal, Jani said,

“I have no issues in doing any illegal task if it is for my country. We will ask the people there whether they are Indians or Kashmiris. If they say they are Kashmiris, we will take them to task in our own way,” he said.

The Nav Nirman Sena was formed by Jani in 2010.

Jani has at least ten other cases registered against him in Meerut, Amroha and Dehradun.

He had hit headlines when he was jailed for damaging a statue of BSP chief Mayawati in Lucknow.
