Srinagar: A delegation of the Indian National Congress (INC) comprising Ghulam Nabi Monga, Member Legislative Council (MLC) and Members Legislative Assembly Haji Rashid, Muhammad Amin Bhat and Usman Majid met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan in Srinagar on Wednesday.
The delegation apprised the Governor about their views regarding the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the State and status of ongoing consultations between the Government and their party on this important issue and the prevailing law and order scenario in the Valley and the measures required to be initiated to bring peace and normalcy in the State.
Governor advised the delegation to keep the interests of the consumers and the State foremost during their consultation with the Government regarding implementation of the GST, being held on 29th June 2017, and urged them to continue their sustained efforts for bringing peace and development in the State.
