“Aap qaum ke gaddar ho. Qaumi Gaddar,” Rasheed tells Baig
Srinagar: The speaker of Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta on Tuesday adjourned the house after ruling and opposition lawmakers including independent lawmaker, and MLA Langate Engineer Rasheed, exchanged heated arguments during the special session of the assembly in the lower house.
The house was debating the implementation of GST regime in Jammu and Kashmir.
As the speaker asked the assembly security to marshal out Rasheed from the house, opposition lawmakers prevented security guards from marshalling him out.
Earlier, Rasheed and ruling PDP lawmaker Javed Baig exchanged heated words.
“Aap qaum ke gaddar ho. Qaumi Gaddar,” Rasheed told Baig.
This infuriated Baig, who told Rasheed, “We will hang you at a four way.”
Rasheed replied by saying that Kashmir is a disputed territory. “Yeh kisi ki jageer nahi hai.”
These arguments continued for several minutes, with NC lawmakers also exchanging words with the BJP lawmakers.
BJP lawmakers were demanding an apology from Rasheed over his Gaddar remarks.
The house has been adjourned till 2:30.
