Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry condemns attack on Amarnath pilgrims

Jammu Chamber had called for a complete shutdown

Srinagar: Valley’s apex trade body Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday condemned the attack on a bus carrying Amarnath Yatris.

The Chamber in a statement extended their condolences to the bereaved families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Earlier, Jammu Chamber had a called for a complete Bandh on Tuesday.

In a statement President of the Jammu Chamber Rakesh Gupta said, “A complete shutdown will be observed on Tuesday to pay respect and homage to the brave Amarnath pilgrims who were martyred by coward terrorists.”

The Jammu Chamber appealed that the bandh should be peaceful so that the Yatra continues without any problem.

The police said that on Monday claimed that Lashkar-e-Toiba militants carried out the attack on forces in which 7 Amarnath Yatris were also killed. Around 19 Yatris were injured.

However, the militant outfit in a statement blamed the Indian forces for the attack and called it a ‘reprehensible act.’
