Srinagar: The chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Syed Ali Geelani, on Wednesday expressed his ‘deep grief’ over the death of seven Yatris.
Seven Amarnath pilgrims were killed and 19 others were injured, on July 10, after a suspected militant attack on the government forces in Batengoo, a village between Khanbal and Bejbehara, an area of Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Demanding an impartial probe, Geelani said “Almighty Allah won’t forgive the killers of innocents.”
Tehreek-e-Hurriyat is a separate political party of Syed Ali Shah Geelani. Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Jammu and Kashmir was founded on 7th August 2004.
Geelani said that human lives are ‘precious’ and Islam says, “whoever kills a soul unless it be (in legal punishment) for murder or for causing disorder and corruption on the earth will be as if he had killed all humankind”
Syed Ali Geelani said that Yatris are ‘our guests’. He added that “we have no animosity with India nor we nurture any enmity with their faith.”
Hailing the youth for their ‘exemplary service’, he commended them for the support that was provided to the Yatris through blood donation campaigns and ground help in times of distress.
Geelani said that the people in Kashmir have always proved that they are not following any ‘fanatical dogma’ instead their exemplary valor and their respect for minority community has always remained a source of inspiration.
