Attack on Yatris was an Indian plot: Lashkar-e-Taiba

Srinagar: Militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba on Tuesday made it clear that they have no role in the attack on Amarnath pilgrims.

The outfit chief Mehmood Shah in a statement to news agency CNS said that India is pursuing a policy based on terrorism while after carrying out the attack herself, it is labelling us as culprits without any evidence.

He clarified that their target is only the armed forces. “The motive of Doval doctrine is to accuse others and Indian masses should understand that army in Kashmir has butchered innocent people. The attack on pilgrims is also their plot. A person in custody can utter anything during interrogation,” he said.

Eight Amarnath pilgrims were killed and 19 others were injured, after a suspected militant attack on the government forces in Batengoo, a village between Khanbal and Bejbehara, an area of Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.
