Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday raided at least twelve locations in Srinagar, Baramulla and Handwara.
The raids were in connection with the alleged terror funding cases against Hurriyat leaders, reported the Press Trust of India.
NIA said that those being searched today have alleged links to persons being investigated in this case.
NIA had arrested seven persons on July 24 in the case of alleged funding and subversive activities in the Kashmir Valley to fuel unrest.
On Tuesday, a New Delhi court sent the arrested Hurriyat leaders to a 14-day judicial custody which also include the sons and son-in-law of Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
Moreover, Hurriyat leader Shabir Shah’s wife had earlier written to the authorities that he is facing a ‘life threat’ in the Tihar Jail.
The agency had claiming that the accused were ‘waging war’ against the country and were involved in various offences punishable under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
