Photojournalist Kamran Yousuf’s judicial custody extended till October 17

Srinagar: A Court in Delhi has remanded photojournalist Kamran Yousuf and another youth, Javed Ahmad, to judicial custody till October 17, reports said.

Kamran, a photojournalist from Pulwama and Javed a youngster from Kulgam district were arrested by National Investigation Agency (NIA) on September 5.

While the NIA has accused the two youth of stone-pelting and inciting youth on social media, no charges against them have been made public yet.

Earlier a court had remanded the two Kashmiri youths to the custody of National Investigation Agency (NIA) which was to expire today.

However their judicial custody was extended till October 17 by District Judge Poonam Bamba during in-camera proceedings at the Patiala House Court today.

Kamran, a freelance journalist who has worked extensively with Greater Kashmir, was arrested on September 4 by Jammu and Kashmir Police and handed over to NIA a day after.
