Braid Chopping: As incidents soar, police still clueless

Five incidents reported across the valley on Sunday 
We are yet to get any breakthrough: DGP

Srinagar: With the incidents of braid chopping soaring after every other day, the state Police Chief SP Vaid on Sunday said there has been no breakthrough so far into the mysterious incidents.

Talking to KNS, the DGP said, “I am also looking for Jaadu ki chadi (Magical stick),” he said.

Meanwhile, five incidents of braid chopping occurred on Sunday in different parts of Kashmir.
In Kulgam, three consecutive braid chopping incident occurred. At Dardparen Khuri Batpora village the braid of one elderly woman was also chopped.

Another incident took place at Lassarpora Manzgam in Kulgam, where a braid of young girl was chopped. Another incident took place at Noorabad Kulgam.

In Srinagar’s Batamaloo area, a braid chopping incident took place around 12 noon after a young girl became a victim.

Later in the afternoon, a girl’s braid was chopped in Baramulla town.

Family members of the girl told KNS that some unknown person or persons were hiding inside her room, and when she entered into her room, they sprayed some powder on her which left her unconscious.

“Later they chopped her braid and fled,” they said. The girl was shifted to District hospital Baramulla for treatment.
