Braid Cutting

PDP leader who blamed NC for braid chopping needs treatment at the earliest: NC

‘Everybody knows who is behind braid chopping incidents’

Srinagar: A day after PDP MLC Yasir Reshi held National Conference (NC) responsible for braid chopping incidents in Kashmir, the NC legislator from Habba Kadal constituency, Shameema Firdous on Friday said that the PDP leader was mentally ill and he needed treatment.

“I believe the statement made by the PPD leader is his frustration. He needs treatment at the earliest,” Firdous told KNS.

She said everybody knows who is behind these mysterious braid chopping incidents.

“I don’t even know him (Yasir Reshi). But the statement he has made is because we protested against their (Govt) failure,” she said.

She said that instead of blaming NC and others for the braid chopping incidents, the PDP leader should point out his finger on the government as they have utterly failed to nab the culprits behind braid chopping.

“He (Yasir) would have felt the pain of the womenfolk if his family would have become the victim of a braid chopping incident,” Firdous said and termed his statement as ‘ridiculous’.

The MLA of Habba Kadal further said that people are raising their voice for genuine reasons as the increasing number of braid chopping incidents have created fear among the locals.

“The men don’t even dare to offer Fajr (morning) prayers at Masjid’s due to the fear,” she said.

The PDP leader and MLC Yasir Reshi had on Thursday said that there might be some percentage of agencies involved behind the incidents of braid chopping, but 90 percent of such incidents are done by NC.

Reshi had said he has a recording of previous year, in which NC legislator Shameema Firdous is heard asking her workers to disturb law and order so that it creates more problems for PDP and blame will be automatically shifted on PDP.
