I will try my best to meet Hurriyat, says interlocutor Sharma

Srinagar: After meeting Communist leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Wednesday, Government of India’s interlocutor Dineshwar Sharma said that we will ‘do his best’ to meet Hurriyat leaders.

‘I will try my best,” said Sharma after meeting Tarigami.

Regarding his other meeting, the former IB boss said that they have been ‘very good’.

“I met many people. I wish that peace returns to Kashmir. I will also try to meet Hurriyat,” the former Intelligence Bureau head said.

Sharma arrived in Srinagar on Monday to initiate a “sustained dialogue” with stakeholders in Jammu and Kashmir.
Yesterday, he met with 37 delegations.

The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik have already rejected talks with him. They have termed his appointment as “nothing more than a tactic to buy time” by New Delhi.

The Business community including the apex bodies like the KCCI and FCIK also refused to meet the interlocutor stating that the previous delegations yielded nothing.
