Interlocutor Sharma likely to visit JK again next month

‘Will try to meet more and more people’

Srinagar: The Government of India’s interlocutor for J&K Dineshwar Sharma is likely to visit the state later this month or in the first week of next month, sources told KNS.

After submitting his report to the Home Minister Rajnath Singh about his first five-day visit to JK, Sharma is beginning his second visit by the end of this month or the beginning of December.

Talking to KNS over phone from New Delhi, Sharma said the exact date has not been fixed yet. “But yes I am visiting very soon. I will try to meet more and more people,” he said.

Asked if he would formally write to Hurriyat for the talks, he said, “Let me reach there. I will talk to everyone,” he said.

During his first visit, Sharma met around 65 delegations including political leaders, religious leaders and other civil society members and different NGOs. However, the prominent trade and business bodies refused to meet while the Hurriyat Conference, considered key stakeholders of the Kashmir issue refused to hold talks with Sharma.

They called it a ‘time buying tactic’. Recently senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha said that Sharma should send a written invitation for dialogue to the Hurriyat leaders.
