Srinagar: The Army in a statement on Saturday said that former Indian Cricket Captain MS Dhoni will be the chief guest of on the final of the Chinar Cricket Premier League 2017.
The final will be held at Kunzer Cricket Stadium in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.
In a statement, army said the final match of the tourney that saw participation of 110 teams will be played between teams of north and south Kashmir.
“The championship saw an overwhelming response this year with a total 110 teams participating in it,” the statement read.
“The match on Sunday assumes great significance due to the presence of former Indian Cricket team Captain and current player Lt Col M.S. Dhoni at the venue as Chief Guest,” said the statement.
“The event will provide the youth of Kashmir a great opportunity to interact with the cricketing legend and derive inspiration to make it big in this sport for themselves.”
Dhoni who holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in Indian army paid a surprise visit to Army Public School Srinagar on Thursday.
