SHRC orders SMHS to provide free medical care to minor pellet victim

Srinagar: The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has taken suo-moto cognizance of the news reports regarding the boy who was left without a kidney, gall bladder and appendix after almost a full cartride of pellets was pumped into his body.

The incident took place in the Downtown area of the city last Friday.

The Chairperson of SHRC Bilal Nazki has also ordered the authorities of the SMHS to provide free medical care to the victim.

16-year-old Zahid Mir from Zoonimar was injured when he was heading home after finishing his class 11th examination on Friday.

Police have ordered a probe to ascertain who pumped pellets into the body of Mir.
