BSF trooper kills colleague in Bandipora

Bandipora: Officials On Tuesday informed that a Border Security Force (BSF) trooper shot dead his own colleague in Bandipora district of the valley.

Around 11:30 pm yesterday, gunshots were heard from inside the BSF headquarters in Madar locality of Bandipora.

“After inquiring, one head constable Chandarbhan, a resident of Vill- Kirmach, Kurukshetra, Haryana was found dead in a pool of blood at the entrance of GD office,” said an official.

He added that during the preliminary investigation by the BSF as well as the police, a BSF constable identified as Ravinder Singh, resident of Dildar, Kupwara was found to be involved in the incident.

“He has been handed over to Bandipora police and case FIR No. 163/2017 u/s 302 RPC has been registered against him,” the official informed.
