Srinagar: Two private security guards of J&K bank were killed after unknown gunmen attacked a cash van of J&K bank in Keller area of Shopian in south Kashmir on Monday.

Official sources said that unknown gunmen fired indiscriminately on the Scorpio vehicle of J&K Bank at Poju Keller village, leaving the two security guards seriously wounded.

The injured bank guards were shifted to District Hospital Pulwama where doctors declared them brought dead. Later, government forces rushed to the spot and launched searches in the area after the incident, said an official.

DIG South Kashmir range SP Pani through official Twitter handle wrote that “Militants attacked a JK bank cash van in Shopian. In the attack two bank guards lost their lives. No cash looted. Driver of the vehicle is stable as the search continues.”
