Allotment of 1600 Kanals land to Army deep conspiracy, says Jama’at

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir on Friday expressed deep concern over the allotment of land to army at Humhama.

In a Statement, a spokesperson of Jama’at said that he veiled allotment of 1600 kanals of land to the Indian army at Gogoland Humhama ‘is a matter of great concern for the people and this is the vicious plan to deprive the local people of their land on the pattern of Palestine’.

“Despite the publication of this sorrowful news in the media, the silence of the local government and administration is meaningful and points towards something fishy. This process has been going on for long with the result that the army cantonments and camps are almost in the main areas of the valley and a big chunk of fertile land have been occupied thereby by the army and other Indian agencies with the connivance of the local governments from time to time,” the statement reads.

Jama’at-e-Islami appealed to the High Court Bar Association to study the matter deeply and take all possible effective measures to get this process ‘stopped for safeguard of the interest of the common people’.

The statement further added that ‘the real representatives of the people here are also impressed upon to take immediate notice of the crucial matter and frame a joint strategy to frustrate such plans’.
