Geelani condemns indiscriminate use of pellets against civilians in Shopian

Says use of lethal weapons is worst, most beastly, “brutal and unbearable”

Srinagar: Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani strongly condemned indiscriminate use of pellets against civilians and blinding youth in Shopian, saying blinding and maiming is “inhuman, most condemnable and barbarous.

Commenting over never-ending situations of uncertainty, Geelani said that use of lethal weapons is worst, most beastly, brutal and unbearable.

Geelani condemned pellet firing over civilians and said that Pervaiz Ahmad Dar, Imran Muneer, Feroz Ahmad and dozens of others were the victims of a deadly weapon used nowhere else in the world. “The fact remains unchanged, Kashmir is the only place in the world where these weapons are used against human beings,” he said.

Geelani said that people everywhere in the world come on roads to express their anger and dissatisfaction and register their protest but the law enforcing agencies nowhere use the lethal and deadly weapons against its own people.

Lashing at authorities for vandalism and for their heartless approach, Syed Ali Geelani said that there is no let-up in killings, saying resistance leaders are caged and detained on one pretext or the other and even barred to mourn these killings.

Syed Ali Geelani strongly condemned the continuous house detention of its party leaders including Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Mohammad Ashraf Laya, Hakim Ab Rashid, Mohammad Yasin Ataie, Bashir Ahmad Irfani, Syed Imtiyaz Hyder, and dozens of other activists, saying our youth are being killed and maimed and we are not even allowed to share their pain.

Geelani criticized the forces for constantly using the lethal weapons against the peaceful protestors in the state, saying that the state of Jammu & Kashmir is the only police state in the world where the violation of the human rights and killing of innocent people by the government forces is not any big thing and where the armed forces have no accountability.

Geelani said that tall claims of ministerial heads to be seriously concerned about the future of our youth, is nullified by the ruthless killings and blinding of young generation, saying how can these puppets justify the use of deadly weapons against peaceful protestors.

Geelani said that the present killers have flooded this valley with these armed forces to strengthen their autocratic regime, otherwise the protests in every part of world and in India show their might, vandalize properties but bullets and pellets are not showered over them.

Referring to the continuous and unstoppable spree of killings and maiming, Geelani said that wicked and cruel forces have once again started destroying residential houses and ransacking the belongings of the people and harassing and detaining youth in the dead of night.
Syed Ali Geelani said that sacrifices presented by our nation won’t go waste and I am sure and confident that we will achieve our cherished goal.
