Srinagar: Senior resistance leader Syed Ali Geelani has termed Kashmir as root cause of prevailing uncertainty in south Asia. While expressing concerns over “horrendous situations” in the state, he said that the stubborn and haughty approach of Indian rulers is root cause of prevailing situations.

Paying glowing tributes to slain millitant Noor Mohammad Tantray in Sambora  gunfight, Geelani said that state people are facing extreme situations. He added that during and after gunfights, the civilian populations are subjected to arbitrary measures and military might.

Geelani has also welcomed Asiya Andrabi and Sofi Fehmeda’s release and pledged to carry forward “struggle”.

Hailing her role, he said that Asiya Andrabi is a living example that no torture, no hanging or detention can cow down our sentiments. Her release will give an impetus to our struggle,” said Geelani, while demanding release of all prisoners in and outside the state, who, have been falsely implicated.

Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Aasiya Andrabi and her close aide Fhmeeda Sofi were freed from Srinagar central jail on December 25.
