Killers of Kupwara taxi driver will be punished, says Dineshwar Sharma

Kupwara:  New Delhi’s special representative for Kashmir Dineshwar Sharma has said that any soldier found guilty in the killing of Kupwara Taxi driver will be punished and the probe will be made public.

Sharma in a statement has said that people of Kashmir will feel that justice has been done when the guilty will be punished and report be made public.

While answering a question that if Government of India can talk to militants in Assam why it is not following suit in Kashmir, Sharma said that he will only talk to those who believe in non-violence.

“My doors are open for those who want peace in Kashmir. I interacted a lot of people here who truly want peace and prosperity.”

On December 17, a taxi driver identified Asif Iqbal Bhat, son of Mohammad Iqbal resident of Thandipora was killed at Thandipora in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kralpora.

The army had said that its ambush party observed ‘suspicious movement’ of three persons near nallah in Thindpura village.
