Srinagar: Account holders from Jammu Kashmir Bank Branch Khag in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district Tuesday staged a protest here in Press Enclave Srinagar accusing Branch Manager of resorting to corrupt practices.

The customers told reporters that Manager of the Khag Bank Branch not only misbehaves with the customers but also demand bribe both in cash and kind to get any work done.

“This Branch Manager demands trout fish, walnuts and almonds, apple boxes, pulses from the customers. For a subsidy case, he demands 10% share and 10 kg walnuts,” the protesting customers alleged.

The protesters said that the said Branch Manager is devoid of ethics and lack manners. “He doesn’t know how to treat customers,” they said.

“We appeal Jammu Kashmir Bank authorities to take cognizance of the matter and get the said Branch Manager transferred from Khag Budgam,” they said.

Some of the account holders who were part of the protest include Ghulam Hasan Sofi, Javaid Ahmed Bhat, Ajaz Ahmed Sofi and Abdul Hamid Shiekh. “We are not scared. Please mention our names in the news report. We are witness to his shoddy deals,” they said.
