Pakistan says that its time to have a ‘ruthless candid dialogue’ with US

Srinagar: It is high time for Pakistan to have a ‘ruthless candid dialogue’ with the United States. This was stated by the country’s Defence Minister Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan.

A report in The News, quoted Khan as saying that Pakistan has suspended intelligence and defence cooperation with the US.

“America needs to deal with that ungoverned area before it points fingers towards Pakistan’s role in Afghan peace process. US military aid suspension to Pakistan has no importance. At the same time, strategic dialogue between the two countries has also faced suspension for last two years. High level dialogues with US would not work until resumption and consistency in working level dialogues,” Khan was quoted by The News.

The report also mentioned Khan saying that the illogical allegations and demands of the US have seriously affected the efforts of Pakistan to ensure peace in the region as well as in the world.

The Defence Minister also pointed out that the sacrifices of Pakistan in it’s war against the terror are known to everyone and the country become a scapegoat and bring the Afghan war on it’s soil.

Khan also added that the country is facing an ‘external’ threat from India and an internal threat due to terrorism.

“Pakistan had been facing challenges where it had been confronting with external threat on eastern border with India and facing internal threat due to terrorism,” Khan said.
