Srinagar: The government employees in Jammu and Kashmir have termed the government’s announcement over implementation of 7th pay commission as a victory without war while stating that the budget was employee friendly.

The President of the Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), Abdul Qayoom Wani said that the state government employees are thankful to the chief minister and finance minister of Jammu and Kashmir for presenting the budget that benefits the common masses of the state.

“In general, it is the employee friendly budget and we are thankful to the government for announcing the 7th pay commission. For us, it is a victory without war,” Wani said.

He added that the employees were readying themselves to hit the streets if the government in today’s budget wouldn’t have announced the implementation of the 7th pay commission to the government employee.

However, Wani wanted the Finance Minister to clarify about the disbursement of the 7th pay commission arrears which are due since January 2016.

“The government hasn’t stated anything about the arrears of the 7th pay commission. We want it to reveal the same. Further, we demand that SRO 520 related to the regularization of the daily wagers must be implemented for the corporations and public sector undertakings as well as the government has left the daily wagers working in PSUs and Corporations out in the SRO 520,” Wani said.

Wani thanked Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu, Chief Secretary B B Vyas and Principle Secretary Finance for employee friendly budget.
