Rajouri: The water crisis in Chawah village of Rajouri district in Chenab Valley of Jammu and Kashmir have added to the hardships of common people.

According to villagers the administration particularly the PHE Department have been doing nothing to mitigate the sufferings of the people.

“The officials have been acting as mute spectators while people continue to suffer. We are being forced to fetch unclean water from rivulets and springs,” said a local.

They claimed that for last few weeks water supply has been off in the area “which has left us in a lurch”.

“The temperature is freezing with each passing day and people are left to the mercy of God in absence of water for drinking and other purposes,” said a villager.
