Rasheed alleges manhandling by marshals, non locals, says will boycott the rest of the session

Jammu: Awami Ittehad Party chief Engineer Rasheed on Tuesday said that he will boycott the rest of the budget session after alleging that he was ‘thrashed’ by ‘non locals’ and the marshals and who were ordered to take him out of the house.

Several legislators got into a heated argument with Rasheed over his comments on ‘back door appointments’ in various corporations. The Deputy Speaker ordered the marshals to take Rasheed out of the house.

While speaking to the media outside the Assembly and showing his injury marks, Rasheed said, “They (marshals) used ruthless means and manhandled me. My self respect has been hurt, so has the self-respect of the people of my constituency.

He added that he will boycott the rest of the session unless the matter is thoroughly probed.

The MLA of Langate also added that the house is losing it’s credibility and has become a ‘graveyard’ of the aspirations and rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
